About Me
My intention is to establish a supportive and empowering space for you to discover your authentic self, inner strength, and embrace your wholeness.
I have always been drawn to psychology and curious about human beings. I found my calling in this work during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The agony, grief, and rage I felt as I witnessed the suffering of Black/Brown bodied people and “poor people” compelled me to pursue a path to facilitate trauma healing in others. Since then, my work has been shaped by the wisdom gained from my personal triumphs and tribulations, the stories of pain+ the resilience of my familial history and ancestry, and the lives that have touched my heart and have taught me so much about humanity along the way.
My work sits at the intersection of Trauma Healing+Somatics+Embodied Intimacy+Conscious Identity+ Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy+ Spirituality+Parenting+Grief/Loss+Earth-Based Healing
I have 15 years of experience in the mental health field ranging from community mental health, medical settings, to private practice. The principles that guide my work as a holistic psychotherapist are love, liberation, and joy. I am passionate about supporting individuals and communities in building the capacity to transform stress and trauma into infinite power and possibility. I believe in the human capacity for healing and change, and I believe we all are being called to dig deep within ourselves to free and lift ourselves to greater heights of love, harmony, and peace.
My simple pleasures are spending time with my spunky daughter, river bathing, stargazing/moon baths, spending time outdoors, hanging with animals, sippin’ on some tea, gardening, music, dancing, writing, drawing, learning, & solitude. I am also into doing the things that scare me like solo exploration into unknown territory, allowing myself to be witnessed, or embracing vulnerability to name a few.
