An Earth Day Gathering
A space to come back into relationship with the land, with each other, and with the simple joy of being outside. This Earth Day, we’re gathering in community to slow down and reconnect. We’ll create, play, and spend time caring for the land together through a light park clean-up.
This isn’t about doing everything perfectly.
It’s about being present, being together, and remembering our connection to the earth in a way that feels real and accessible.
Community art • Play • Connecting with the land • Light park clean-up
All are welcome.

Afro-Brazilian Movement Workshop
Afro-Brazilian Movement Workshop with Ingride Banzo (Bahia, Brazil- IG @dancercapoeiragirl)
This 2-day workshop invites you into a deeper relationship with your body through movement rooted in Afro-Brazilian cultural traditions.
Here, movement is not just physical, it is expressive, emotional, and deeply connected to how we experience ourselves and the world. Through rhythm and guided exploration, the body becomes a place to access what's been held, felt, and often unspoken.
Rather than focusing on technique, this experience centers presence, awareness, and expression allowing you to move beyond patterns of self-judgment and reconnect with your natural rhythm.
What This Work Opens
Through this experience, you may begin to explore:
Expanded Expression — Moving beyond tension, inhibition, and internal limits through embodied movement
Embodied Awareness — Developing a deeper connection to your body as a source of insight, intelligence, and guidance
Emotional Release — Creating space for what has been held in the body to move and be expressed
Connection in Community — Sharing space with others in a way that invites reflection, presence, and recognition
The Experience
This experience is guided by Ingride Banzo, a movement artist and healer from Bahia, Brazil, whose work carries the living wisdom of Afro-Brazilian traditions.
Over two days, we'll move together through guided practices that center rhythm, expression, and connection. While there is cultural depth and intention behind the movement, the focus remains on your experience in your body building comfort, confidence, and a sense of freedom in how you move.
Accessibility
This workshop is open to all levels. No dance experience is needed.
All bodies are welcome.

Elemental Bodies
This course uses ecotherapy, expressive arts, and community building to help young children connect with the natural elements and their own embodied experience. Through playful exploration of earth, water, fire, air, and spirit, participants develop body awareness, creative expression, and group connection. This offering adapts my previous work with interest groups for younger learners who thrive with hands-on, imaginative, nature-based activities.
This program will be offered as a Summer Camp through Carolina Friends School.
Registration and enrollment will take place directly through Carolina Friends School here
The Prosperity of Play
Reimagining Space: Cultural Medicine & Play
This project invites adults into community play circles designed to restore connection through cultural medicine, embodied practice, and collective imagination. Rooted in Black and Indigenous healing traditions, we gather to explore movement, land connection, contemplative rest, storytelling, and playful creative expression.
Together, we reimagine historically Black and Indigenous spaces in Durham as places of belonging, joy, and cultural remembrance. These gatherings offer a space to reconnect with curiosity, imagination, and the healing power of play alongside others.
Play becomes a pathway back to wholeness.
